The Morris Area Paratransit System or MAPS is a curb-to-curb rideshare transportation service available to Morris County residents.

The service is for senior citizens, people with disabilities, and veterans. However, MAPS also provides transportation to the general public who live in rural areas of the county.

To use this transportation service, call (888)282-6277 at least one week in advance to schedule a trip.

MAPS will schedule appointments up to one month in advance and suggest you call as early as possible for the best chance of securing transportation when needed. There is a big demand for MAPS, so the earlier you call to schedule a trip the better.

MAPS encourages riders who may need assistance to bring a caregiver along on the ride. They ask that you let the office know if there will be a caregiver/attendant to assist you during your trip when calling to schedule your appointment.

MAPS uses several types of vehicles for customer transportation. Make sure to let MAPS know in advance if you use an assistance device: personal care assistant, wheelchair, service animals, and/or portable oxygen equipment.

You can also use email to make a reservation with MAPS. MAPS asks that you allow one business day for a response.

The service may not be free, so be sure to call to identify the costs. General ridership costs $1 per round trip. Transportation to a place of employment costs $1 per round trip or $20 per month (for community employment); or $0.50 per round trip or $10 per month (for Employment Horizons or other Sheltered workshops).

MAPS travels anywhere within Morris County and may be able to travel a short distance outside of Morris County. Contact the office at (888)282-6277 or email MAPS at maps@co.morris.nj.us.

MAPS is divided into three regions.

MAPS operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM and can take medical appointments beginning at 10:00 AM and finishing by 2:30 PM.
